Kartar Corridor is also known as Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Marg. It’s been in the news for a very long time because of Pakistan and India try to open the corridor for Sikh pilgrims to cross the border and cut down the travel time from 125 Kilometres to about 8 Kilometres out of which 4 Kilometer area is of the corridor. There is a big issue that is happening right now, Pakistan Government said that they want to charge visa fees i.e. $20 dollars will be charged on each pilgrim.
Today our Prime Minister, Shri Narender Modi will arrive and inaugurate the passenger terminal that is built after the corridor on both sides of India and also on the Pakistan side. The people living around Dera Baba Nanak usually walk down and use pair of binoculars installed over there to see Kartarpur Sahib. There is so much security over there.
So, that entire program will thoroughly go smoothly without any interruption. Yesterday, the senior officer ADGP of Punjab police said that they have made adequate security arrangements. It’s mix security of Punjab and later on when they move forward towards the passenger terminal, where they will meet the Border Security Force or BSF when approach.
Today, it’s a very big day not only for Gurdas Pur or Dera baba but for the entire Sikh community as this will make their journey much much easier and the people who have planned to go are not bothered about the money to spent to cross the border but the main fact is that it has become accessible which is definitely going to be a big driving force in them making a decision to go over there. We’ll update you all about the Corridor as we get more information. As for now, we’ve heard that no camera is issued to any of the media. Let’s see what will happen in the next few hours. So, be with us for more information on Kartarpur Corridor.
