Happy Raksha Bandhan (Rakhi): Wallpapers, Images, Quotes, Pics Status Stories Dp For Whatsapp 2019

Rakhi is one of the special festivals for brother and sister. With lots of love and celebration, Rakhi is falling on 15th August this year. I think it’s a wonderful coincidence that both of the important occasions of this year fall on the same date. So, this Independence Day celebration will be doubled. Although, a holiday will be less this year love and celebration will be more.

Rakhi symbolizes siblings love, the bond they share, the fun, the togetherness. On this auspicious day, a sister ties a simple thread on her brother’s wrist where the brother promises to protect her from all the evil deeds. Not just an oath to protect, he also gifts a present to express his love. It shows the love and connection between them which never fades. No matter what! but this pure bond always remains the same forever. It’s a promise to be with each other forever and ever.

This pious festival of siblings falls every year on the full moon day of Sharavana. Rakhi is also referred as Raksha Bandhan, Rakhi Purnima, and Kajari Purnima varying from region-to-region. Raksha Bandhan actually means ‘the bond of protection.’ On this day, Jaats used to tie rakhi to their Desi Hukkas. The asupicious time to tie rakhi tomorrow is from 1:44 PM to 4:20 PM.

Rajasthanis and Marawaris have an additional ritual for this day i.e. ‘Lumba Rakhi’ on their sister in law’s bangle. It means along with the brother, his wife is also equally promised to protect his sister. But, this ritual has turned out to be a fashion in this century.

Raksha Bandhan Quotes

How did it start? In the times of Gods and Goddesses, when Lord Krishna had hurt his finger during his fight against the evil Shishupal and Draupadi tied a piece of cloth on Krishna’s wrist and in return, Krishna promised to protect her. Since then, this festival means a lot.
