DK Shivakumar Expresses Sadness
The Chief Minister of Karnataka, DK Shivakumar, stated he was sad and in shock about Hegde’s premature passing. In a post on social media, he referred to Hegde as a committed member of the Congress Party. He also stated that Hegde was part of the Congress family and the party was losing a member who dedicated his time to the party and the people.
Citing Hegde’s work as an AICC employee, Shivakumar listed his roles as the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Vice-President, Vice-Chairman of the State Guarantee Committee and as a leader who was always available and easy to reach. He expressed his loss of a committed member of the family of the Congress Party, a dedicated public servant, and an exceptional party worker. He prayed to give Hegde’s family and supporters strength to bear the loss.
Deputy CM Parameshwara Remembers His Leadership
Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara expressed sadness about Hegde’s sudden loss as well. He stated that Hegde’s leadership skills and his concern for the people would always be remembered.
The Deputy Chief Minister stated that Hegde’s passing is a loss to both Congress and Karnataka’s politics and society. He offered his condolences to the family and asked that the deceased rest in peace.
Surjewala Pays an Emotional Tribute
Adding to the homage, Randeep Singh Surjewala, the AICC Karnataka in-charge, posted an emotional statement and called Hegde a close friend of his and a trusted colleague and “comrade in arms”. Surjewala admired Hegde for his dedication to the cause of the Congress party and for carrying on the work in the spirit and tradition of the former Chief Minister of Karnataka DK Shivakumar, and Devraj Urs.
Surjewala also remembered Hegde as a great family man and an excellent organizer and expressed that he was a leader who was admired by everyone, both his colleagues and the party workers. Surjewala said that Hegde spent all his life serving the public and upholding the principles of the Congress party.

Surjewala, remembering that he met Hegde only two days before his passing, said that this meeting occurred after the announcement of the Members of the Rajya Sabha and the Members of the Legislative Councils. He stated that Hegde was positive and spoke encouraging words to all.
Surjewala said that it was hard to believe that Hegde was gone, as he was always smiling and cheerful, and his great personality would be missed by many. Surjewala also paid tribute to Hegde’s family, friends, and supporters.
