Ram Charan’s latest Telugu action drama, Peddi, continues its great box office run, crossing the ₹200 crore worldwide mark just 3 days after its premiere. Peddi is directed by Buchi Babu Sana and stars Janhvi Kapoor as the main lead. The film is among the biggest Telugu releases this year. Trade estimates suggest that Peddi has earned more than ₹236 crore worldwide by the end of Day 3.

Peddi Maintains Strong Momentum at the Box Office
Peddi hit the ground running on its first day, earning more than ₹51 crore net. After a highly successful opening weekend, Peddi continued its positive performance, even if it started to show some drops compared to the opening day. The film netted approximately ₹28.85 crore on Day 3 across all languages, and its total net collection in India reached about ₹125 crore.
Telugu Version Drives Collections
One of the key factors of Peddi’s success has been the collections of the Telugu version, which still rules the collections in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The Telugu version alone contributed more than ₹25 crore on Day 3, whereas the Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions still made usable contributions.
Peddi’s strong occupancy made the film a weekend success in major markets such as Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Guntur. The film’s appeal to family audiences further boosted the film’s collections, especially among Ram Charan fans, resulting in constant audiences in both multiplex and single-screen theatres.
Growth in International Markets Expands Global Revenue
Internationally, the movie is also a big hit. Within days, collections beyond ₹42 crore enabled Peddi to reach a worldwide gross of more than ₹236 crore. The film has also seen great support in North America, achieving notable ticket sale records and surpassing multiple recent Telugu films.
Due to the support from the overseas audience, Peddi has become one of the top-grossing Indian films of the year.
Barbs Aimed at Janhvi Kapoor’s Character
Besides the box office numbers, Peddi has been in the news for the wrong reasons too, with the scenes featuring Janhvi Kapoor’s character drawing the most flak. Some audience members of the movie claim that the character was shown in a demeaning and objectified manner.
In response to the criticism, Buchi Babu Sana, the film’s director, acknowledged the audience’s concern and distaste and stated that the objectionable scenes would be modified. It was a good enough gesture for a section of audience members to take the edge off the criticism of the movie.
Ticket Sales Show No Signs of Slowing
Despite the criticism, interest from the audience remains strong. Peddi is reported to have achieved ticket sales of more than two million on BookMyShow in 2.5 days. This achievement puts Peddi in the league of some of the fastest-selling Indian movies in the recent past.
The audience is also praising the movie for its action, Ram Charan’s moments and the sequences, and the word of mouth has been positive. Festivities from fans and audience members on social media continue to drive the movie’s popularity.
Can Peddi Continue Its Success?
For Ram Charan, Peddi comes after the box office disappointments of his films that followed RRR. Peddi is on track to be another success for Charan, as Peddi has already surpassed the box office collections of many blockbusters in Telugu Cinema.
Analysts are waiting to see how the audience will respond to Peddi in the weekdays and are keeping their fingers crossed for the film to become a Telugu blockbuster in the coming weeks.
