300 Pound Windi Thomas pleaded guilty for 3rd-degree murder and also faces a minimum sentence of 18 to 36 years in prison. An Erie woman accused her of being involved in roughly attacking and crushing her boyfriend with her fatal body in the couple’s east Erie residence in November, was convicted for the third-degree murder on Monday. 44 years old Windies Thomas, agreed with the prosecutors, recommended a sentence of 18 to 36 years in the state jail as part of her plea agreement. Her sentencing is scheduled for 21st December 2019.
Erie County Justice William R. Cunningham accepted the plea before 9 am. Assistant Erie County District Attorney Jeremy Lightner left the charges of possession of a serious attack, careless threat and means of crime in exchange for Thomas’s plea in the death of her boyfriend, 44 years old Keeno Butler.
The recommended sentence of 18 to 36 years will be deducted from the maximum punishment of 20 to 40 years for a third-degree murder by two to four years, unfortunately, an inadequate killing with malice. He had been scheduled to face trial in the case beginning.
As per the report was given by Erie Times-News, Police said that Thomas crushed Butler after his fight at his Erie residence. She told them that he deployed himself so that some of his weight would be on his head. As per the AP reports, Court papers show that the death was ruled a homicide “caused by respiratory insufficiency secondary to blunt force trauma to the neck and thoracic compression, exacerbated by blunt force,” The victim’s sister Sandra Butler says that Thomas should have got the life. “our mother, she calls him every night,” she says. Thomas, who was scheduled to go to the next week’s trial, will be sentenced on 21st December 2019.
